The line was created due to Valerie’s Elfes’ love for camping as a young girl in California, Michigan and Wisconsin with family and friends in campers and tents. “I loved the time I spent in the woods; catching fireflies, swimming in Lake Michigan, fishing and catching frogs,” she said. “I have great memories of taking hikes, climbing trees, sitting around the campfires, playing in the dirt, roasting hotdogs and making the perfect wooden skewer from a whittling tree branch for toasting marshmallows. These are the memories behind my clothing designs.”

Her husband works in the outdoor industry as well, and it’s allowed them to work together in the camping industry. The idea of the line is dedicated to empowering women with messages of self-love and positivity.

“I’ve been told that my product has been the top-selling item in many campground stores,” Elfes said. “They have devoted a section in their stores just to Campgirl Clothing because they tell me that it attracts many people.”

Due to popular demand, she now offers several accessories to accommodate her line. Check out her bags, caps, camping logbook, drinkware, decals, floating sunglass straps and key wristlets. CampBoy®, CampBaby®, CampDog®, Camp Nurse and Camp Crew® are the latest additions to her line.  The Camp Nurses can let all of their little campers know who got the band-aids.
